Second Life spotlights artists' artistic incorporation in all media of at least 50% recycled, reused, and repurposed materials fashioned into provocative new artwork. * Gallery Cloak-and-dagger ~ Art Unmasked: Hernan Murno leads a mixed-media group show joining Torpedo Factory Artists Lesley Clark, Beverly Ryan, and Marsha Staiger. Described as four artists that approach art-making in very dissimilar ways but are at the same time all fueled past a desire to express themselves across varied mediums, finding relationships that transcend the individual styles and themes. * Potomac Fiber Arts Gallery ~ Studio 29 of the Torpedo Mill Art Heart. Art for the Wall, Cobweb Sculpture, Fine Wearables, Fashion Accessories, Jewelry in all fibers from silk to silver! Merging the Incompatible is the new theme on exhibit Apr 26 – June 5. Fiber artists interpret the theme by exploring incompatible materials or ideas and visual oxymorons in two and three dimensions.

Plein-air abstract landscape painter Lynn Boggess's 2022 Solo Exhibition opens Friday, April 22, with an artist reception half dozen:00-8:xxx pm. LE Drip: Uncontainable Sauce of Black Essence, Apr 23 – July vii. Reception Friday, May 13 from 7 – 10 pm. Washington, DC-based artist Blu Murphy is the solo exhibition recipient for 2022. Her work is a fusion of high dissimilarity forced-perspective photography and abstract graffiti in colour-encased custom-painted vintage frames. The artist portrays the disenfranchised and undervalued in a new lite. The graffiti will spill off the frames and onto the gallery walls, representing breaking through and beyond barriers to inclusion, equality, and excellence. Jurors are artist and innovator Maps Glover, Heather Hakimzadeh, the Virginia Museum Contemporary Art curator, and Maryland-based visual arts curator and arts facilitator Thomas James.
